Presented By Los Hermanos Fraternos De Loiza & Caribbean Cultural Center African Diaspora Institute In Association with Taino Towers - El Barrio Fuerte
The Festival Santiago Apostol De Loiza En El Barrio is commonly known as the Loiza Festival in El Barrio. The festival celebrates the Afro-Boricua traditions that have infused the island of Puerto Rico and the Puerto Rican diaspora with the “sabor” of tradition that includes food, music, dance, crafts and popular celebrations from the town of Loiza founded by “cimarrones” (maroons). The festival will have artisan and food vendors, performances from legendary Latin bands, and cultural presentations of Bomba and Plena. In Puerto Rico, the Loiza Festival is celebrated for 10 days.
